Update: the correct date is April 16th (not the 23rd as previously posted)
Browsing a beautiful collection of art while enjoying wine and cheese sounds like a fine Saturday afternoon – and there’s no need to drive more than a km. or two to enjoy such an afternoon!
On April 16, 2016 at 3:30 PM, Hope Bridges Society will host their third annual fund-raising art auction at the Strathmore Golf Club. If you didn’t think Strathmore was big enough for an art auction, talk to someone who attended in 2014 or 15, then mark your calendar and come experience this year’s auction for yourself, you’ll be glad you did.
The silent auction is first. With time to browse art donated by local artists and artisans you may place as many silent bids as you wish. During this time, items awaiting the live auction will be on display for guests to fall in love with!
In previous years, pieces included wine baskets and flower arrangements, art prints and original works, plus art created in Hope Bridges’ studio specifically for this event. I have it on good authority that the coming auction will be more fun than the first two, with even more items up for bidding. The auctioneer, Grant Klaiber, keeps everyone on the edges of their seats so get ready to bid with (and against!) your friends, for a completely worthy cause.
This year the fund-raising goal is to raise $10,000 to be used to support inclusive arts opportunities in Strathmore & Wheatland County. Dress is semi formal and tickets are $20 at the door, which includes complimentary wine and cheese. There will also be a cash bar. If you wish to reserve tickets please call the studio at 403-983-3640.
